always amazed at how many things came from Napoleon's mind and policies. Great read, it's given me a little extra respect and thought for whenever I open a tin of fish - which is often.
Right?! It's really unfortunate that we don't hear more about these types of contributions from the Little Corporal. I'm glad you enjoyed the read and it inspired respect for that humble tin of fish.
I absolutely want to know more about "salmon spoon bread."
When we went on holiday to Portugal we got given various forms of fish pate and canned fish with the bread at the start of most meals - it's obviously not looked down on the same way there, and it was delicious. But in my house I am afraid tinned tuna is the staple ingredient for the pasta I make the kids when I am out of better ideas - they'll reliably eat it and all it takes is the energy to fry an onion, put a can of tomatoes and a can of tuna in the pan, grate through any zucchini or carrot that needs used up (although that bit is optional) and simmer until sauce turns up, all of which I have reliably in the kitchen.
Please, more tinned fish stories!
More coming in the form of recipes!
There's a tin of tuna in my pantry.
Any plans to use it?
My mom's tuna stuffed rolls most likely. 😉

We'll dive into Salmon Spoon Bread one of these days. 😉
One of the brilliant things about canned and tinned goods is how quickly and easily you can create a delicious dish. And your "recipe" sounds so good!
